Outline:
Moderation helps to ensure assessments of children's learning are accurate and consistent. A supportive process of moderation allows teachers and practitioners to articulate their reasoning and agree what embedded learning looks like.
This termly forum provides a 'hands on' session for teachers and practitioners. Each session will:
- Focus on specific areas of learning
- Provide an opportunity to share observations, photos and other evidence
- Share assessments and reasoning
- Facilitate dialogue and develop an agreement of accurate assessments for the developmental bands and levels.
The focus of this moderation session will be on Baseline Assessments and PSE.

This training will take place over 3 Days (Total 18 Hours). Each Participant will have to commit to attending all sessions of the course. Outline:
The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework places emphasis on welfare and safeguarding standards, stipulating that regular staff supervision is a statutory requirement. Regular supervision improves outcomes for all children including vulnerable children and therefore supports staff's well-being and performance.
This course will explore what is involved in the supervision of staff, including aims, principles and different models. Participants will be able to share practice as well as hear about established policies and procedures of supervision in the nursery schools.

Outline:
Children learn at different rates and require different types and levels of support from practitioners to achieve their full potential. The types of support will vary depending on individual children’s needs. It is important that practitioners understand the varying levels of need within their classroom, as well as any barriers to learning children may face. Understanding this can help practitioners to utilise adaptive teaching practice to provide their children with the targeted support.
How do we ensure children are included in the Early Years? These are practical visits to the three outstanding nursery schools to see inclusion in action. Participants will be given the opportunity to take part in a guided learning walk with one of the school’s SENCOs.
During the learning walk participants can see adapted teaching in action considering how the learning environment provides inclusion for all. Strategies will be explained to participants in the context of the code of practice and the plan do review cycle.

Outline:
This course covers the statutory requirement for education professionals meeting ‘robust 2-yearly training’ for those with a lead or designated professional role for safeguarding in schools. Having completed basic safeguarding training, this course equips professionals to perform their senior safeguarding function in schools and Early Years Settings.
The course will cover latest legislation and procedures and statutory guidance policy development, multiagency working, referral processes, thresholds, risk assessments and management of safeguarding.

Children learn to write through first hand experiences and experimenting with the mark making for themselves. Children rarely see adults writing, this is impacting their early knowledge of writing – build strategies to provide writing experiences for meaning, understand the developmental steps for children to hold a pencil functionally. Join us to increase your repertoire of mark making and emergent writing ideas, indoors and outdoors, lets encourage all our children to 'have a go' and make marvellous marks.

Group time is such a valuable learning time. Course participant will experience a range of activities and strategies to make carpet times accessible for all children in the nursery especially those with communication needs.

Paediatric First Aid at WorkMonday 20th & Tuesday 21st April 2026
Paediatric First Aid at Work

Outline:
This Paediatric First Aid course is run over two days (12 hours) you will be required to attend both days.
The course has been designed to meet the specifications as laid out in National Standard 1 of the Care Standards Act 2000.
The certificate gained from this course is the equivalent of the Red Cross Paediatric First Aid Training, as recommended by OFSTED.
Upon successful completion of the course each candidate will be awarded a certificate under the Health and Safety Regulations Act (First Aid) 1981 which will be valid for three years from the date of issue.
Please note that the trainer includes videos and examples of real life medical and first aid scenarios as part of his training resources.
You will be given the option to opt out of viewing these if you wish when on the course.

How can you make an ambitious curriculum for Early Years? This 3-hour session will focus on the components and composites of an ambitious curriculum for young children. Participants will be talked through the outstanding curriculums that are on offer at Rowland Hill, Woodlands Park and Pembury House. Participants will be able to ask questions about the curriculum and how effective curriculums in the nursery schools build on skills and knowledge to ensure all children make outstanding progress by knowing more each day. The course will also provide opportunities to discuss how practitioners can document children’s learning.
